Seungwon Yang, PhD, associate professor in the School of Information Studies, and Sunyoung Park, PhD, professor in the School of Leadership & Human Resource Development, will lead Smart AI, Smarter Users: Cultivating Critical Thinking and Responsible AI Integration on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Event Room 2F at LSU Barnes & Noble.

Edward Benoit III Named Director of the School of Information Studies
The LSU College of Human Sciences & Education has named Edward Benoit, III, PhD director of the School of Information Studies (SIS). Benoit most recently served as interim director of the school since December 2024.

Smart Tech, Wise Elders: LSU Researcher Leads IMLS-Funded Study on AI Literacy for Older Adults in Rural Communities
Kristina Shiroma, faculty member in the LSU School of Information Studies (SIS), has been awarded a prestigious Early Career Research Development Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to lead a three-year research project focused on artificial intelligence (AI) literacy among rural older adults in Louisiana.
